DiscoverBrabant is an independent, English-language guide that helps British families compare holiday parks, travel routes and guest reviews for North Brabant in the Netherlands. We are not a booking platform and we do not sell holidays. This page explains, in plain English, what personal data the site handles and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible. This website is operated by [Scott / DiscoverBrabant], based in the Netherlands. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at [scottlaans@gmail.com].

01What this site is

DiscoverBrabant is a free comparison guide. When you click through to a holiday park or attraction, you leave this site and book directly on that company's own website. Some of those outbound links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. This never affects which parks we show or what guest reviews say.

02What data we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and which devices they use. This relies on cookies and similar identifiers and includes your (truncated) IP address. We use this only to improve the guide; we do not try to identify individual visitors.

Contact form

If you send a question through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you provide. We use these solely to answer you and to improve our travel information. We do not use them for marketing and we do not sell them.

Maps and reviews

The interactive map and the guest reviews are provided by Google Maps Platform. When these load, Google may receive technical data such as your IP address and set its own cookies, governed by Google's own privacy policy. Reviews are loaded live from Google and shown with a link to each reviewer's public Google profile; we do not store them on this site.

03Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses:

You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies may affect how the map and some features work.

04Why we are allowed to use your data

Under the GDPR we rely on these legal bases: your consent for analytics and map cookies; our legitimate interest in running and improving a useful, secure guide; and, for the contact form, taking steps at your request before any contact with a park.

05Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. It is processed on our behalf, or received directly, by:

Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers are covered by safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

06How long we keep it

Analytics data is retained for the period set in Google Analytics (by default up to 14 months). Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to answer your question and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.

07Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email [your email address]. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are in the UK.

08Children

This site is aimed at parents planning a family holiday, not at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

09Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the site develops or as the law changes. The date below shows the latest version.
